The 69th Venice Film Festival
The 69th Venice Film Festival came to an end on 8 September. Set in one the most beautiful locations in the world Venice Film Festival this year welcomed an array of International stars including Robert Redford, Pierce Brosnan, Kate Hudson, Shia LaBeouf, Zac Efron and many others. Two main sponsors of the event Lancia and Jaeger-LeCoultre made sure that stars had cars to be driven in and watches to wear. At the glamorous Award Ceremony the winners were announced: the Golden Lion for Best Film was awarded to Pieta by Kim Ki-duk (Republic of Korea), Silver Lion for Best Director to The Master by Paul Thomas Anderson (USA) and Special Jury Prize to Paradies: Glaube by Ulrich Seidl (Austria, Germany, France). Coppa Volpi for Best Actor went to Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix in the film The Master by Paul Thomas Anderson (USA).
