Brig Mercury in London

In June Catherine MacDougall, Director and Co-owner of MacDougall’s Auction House hosted an event at her London’s headquarters to launch her first published novel Brig Mercury. The art detective story Brig Mercury is based on real life events. Like the book’s heroine, the author Catherine MacDougall founded her own auction house in London in 2004 which, together with Sotheby’s and Christie’s, is now one of the top three world leaders in Russian art. The novel’s obvious merit is the author’s in-depth knowledge of her subject: the mechanics and undercurrents of the global art market, techniques of uncovering forgeries, real-life characters and behavioural models.
